ChatGPT can now Record Meetings, integrate with Google Drive, Dropbox, and More…

Ever since its inception, ChatGPT has been leading the charge with its advancements in AI, providing numerous solutions for numerous industries. Many professionals and organisations around the globe have implemented ChatGPT in a way that optimizes their productivity. In an effort to further help the users, OpenAI has now enabled users to link more internal data sources to ChatGPT, allowing them to receive more customized and user-centric responses.

Their most recent improvements include a set of tools to improve the workflow and interactivity of users, including the ability to “record the meetings” and transcribe— this is helpful for people who need to document their work precisely. Other features include “cloud drive integration” and “deep research connectors” for popular cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc. These offerings are designed to streamline workflows and simplify research and collaboration. Let’s understand these features in detail!

Key Features Introduced In the Latest ChatGPT Update

On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, OpenAI stated that they have rolled out several updates for ChatGPT with a focus on professional workflows. Two of the major updates are Connectors and Record Mode. These features provide ChatGPT with greater access to your daily activities, giving it more ways to help you, including meeting transcription. OpenAI has added a wide range of advanced features in ChatGPT to help global enterprises streamline their business processes.

Record Mode

With the new update in ChatGPT, users can now record meetings and transcribe them automatically. It identifies the key points, provides suggestions for further actions, and creates time-stamped notes. Similar to how users retrieve documents and files from other cloud services, users can search their notes from meetings. Moreover, action items may be turned into documents in OpenAI Canvas, OpenAI’s collaborative workspace for writing and coding.

Currently, only Team users on macOS have access to the options, but they will soon become accessible to Plus, Pro, Enterprise, and Edu users. You can try this service now for $1, which is part of a welcome offer that grants access for up to 5 participants. After one month, the price will increase to $30 /month.

Cloud Drive Integrations

ChatGPT has now integrated seamlessly with Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, and SharePoint. Users can inquire about specific information, and ChatGPT will retrieve pertinent answers from its files stored in these cloud storage services.

OpenAI has emphasized that data from Teams, Edu, or Enterprise accounts—including linked files—is not utilized for training purposes. The sensitive data is kept secure and is only accessible to authorized users.

Deep Research Connectors

The effectiveness of AI tools is directly linked to the quality of data fed to them. Though ChatGPT is a powerful service that assists users in writing, reasoning, and more, it still requires a lot of context to offer “ideal” answers. The Connectors feature changes this by enabling users to link it with systems that hold your routine information, like your email or cloud storage services.

Deep Research refers to the ChatGPT AI agent capable of conducting thorough multi-step research for you. It gathers vast amounts of data available online and provides synthesized reports from multiple sources. This enables users to create reports by integrating internal data with information from the internet. The functionality is available to all paid users.

The list of supported platforms includes:

  • Gmail
  • Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Google Calendar
  • Outlook (Calendar, Email)
  • Dropbox
  • GitHub
  • Sharepoint
  • Box
  • Linear
  • HubSpot
  • Teams

MCP Support

For OpenAI, this is an excellent opportunity to let workspace admins customize their own Deep Research Connectors with the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which is still in beta. Since the MCP is an open standard, designed by Anthropic, it is a seamless and secure way to connect AI assistants and agents to data systems.

According to OpenAI, MCP will facilitate workspace admins to connect external tools and other applications with ChatGPT’s features. This will enable an experience where users not only deliver context-rich, tailored insights but also search and utilize web results and other existing connectors on the platform. Only Team, Enterprise, Edu admins, and Pro users starting will have access to the beta.

Flexible Pricing

Lastly, OpenAI implemented the new flexible pricing feature by adding credits to all workspaces in Teams and Enterprise plans. Users of those plans will now utilize and have full access to the advanced features and models being released. It is being deployed to Enterprise first and Teams in the following weeks.

Conclusion

These revolutionary updates suggest that OpenAI intends to strengthen the influence of ChatGPT within the enterprise workspace. Considering that more than 3 million

companies have already subscribed to their business products. ChatGPT is currently leading the competition for AI-enabled productivity and research tools, outpacing rivals like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon due to its first-mover advantage and expanding features.
